The goal

When Epidemic Sound partnered with We Select in 2023, the goal was to establish a long-term, data-driven, and sustainable Employer Branding strategy. The aim was to strengthen the company’s position as an attractive employer, increase the inflow of qualified candidates, and make Employer Branding an integral part of its overall recruitment strategy.

1. Position Epidemic Sound as the employer of choice for tech talent

Epidemic Sound conducts annual Employer Brand surveys together with Demoskop. Results showed that the target audience viewed Epidemic Sound as a “cool company”, but few could articulate why they should choose Epidemic Sound as an employer in the tech space. A key challenge was therefore to clarify the company’s unique employer value proposition and differentiate it from competitors in the annual Employer Branding ranking.

2. Engage and attract the next generation of tech talent

The collaboration with We Select focused on the so-called TAPE audience (Tech, Analytics, Product, Engineering) – a segment largely made up of passive candidates that require highly relevant and engaging communication. Epidemic Sound also competes with major tech players such as Spotify, Klarna, Dice, and Einride, making clear positioning and precise messaging crucial for success.

The solution

To ensure that the ongoing Employer Branding efforts both delivered immediate results and built long-term relationships with the target audience, a carefully crafted channel strategy was developed - one that balanced reach, relevance, and precision.

Channel mix:

  • Meta & LinkedIn: Optimized for conversions, driving both engagement and applications.
  • Reddit & TikTok: Built awareness and met the target audience where they naturally spend time online.
  • YouTube: Used for storytelling and in-depth messaging, ideal for longer narratives that showcased company culture and technology.
  • Programmatic advertising: Ensured broad reach and high accuracy through automated, data-driven targeting.

The result was an Employer Branding campaign that not only increased awareness of Epidemic Sound as an employer but also strengthened the company’s position in Demoskop’s 2023 Employer Branding ranking. More candidates began actively considering a career at Epidemic Sound, particularly within tech.

The campaign followed We Select’s three-step funnel model:

Step 1: Awareness – Sparking interest and recognition

The first phase focused on building awareness and helping the audience understand what Epidemic Sound does, while reinforcing the image of the company as a modern, creative, and innovative workplace.

Step 2: Consideration – From curiosity to engagement

The next phase targeted those who had shown interest, with content that clarified why Epidemic Sound is an attractive employer. Culture, values, and career opportunities were brought to life through authentic and inspiring stories.

Step 3: Decision – From engagement to action

Finally, the most engaged candidates were exposed to clear call-to-action messages and visuals encouraging them to apply for open tech positions. This guided candidates smoothly through the funnel, from awareness to application.

The results

The collaboration between Epidemic Sound and We Select has delivered clear, measurable results:

#1 Most Attractive Employer in Tech

In the 2025 Employer Branding survey, Epidemic Sound was ranked as the most attractive employer in tech, ahead of 13 competing companies. Since 2022, the company has climbed from 8th to 1st place.

+100% Increase in Career Site Traffic

In the second year of the partnership, traffic to Epidemic Sound’s career site doubled compared to pre-collaboration levels.

+123% More Applications

The number of incoming applications increased by 123%, highlighting a significant improvement in both reach and candidate relevance.

+830% More Spontaneous Tech Applications

Spontaneous applications (“connects”) within tech roles rose by an impressive 830%, proving that candidates not only recognize Epidemic Sound but actively want to be part of the company.
